PBL Our Public Art

Hey guys

Here at Hornby High we are trying to have a positive impact on our community. but to do this first we had to choose a topic that we had interest in. I chose Public Art because I think art can make people feel or think its just like how music is art and the artist can make people change even through movement other known as dance. I love that we had to work in groups that had a similar vision to your own. Were a group called 4 CIVILISED MEN that is made up of  Kegan Buzz Kill Nathaniel Damien and myself Dasharn.

What we used to help us have a better understanding of our topic we used this website to help.
http://www.scapepublicart.org.nz/

Then we had to answer some Questions about our topic
The people which look at the art are the people effected in a good or bad way.
The people who like gangs and vandalised the streets by tagging gang tags are the issue for Public art.
Public art has been around for centuries and loved by many.
This is happening at the Warehouse, Hub, School or if they say no Mitre 10 or countdown
Why is happening Because people set their goals by saying " What will I do before I Die".

We want to help our community by think of possible goals jobs for the future.

this an update in our plan
These are the steps we are taking to archive our goal to finish our project.

Steps needed to achieve the goal.
What will help us achieve this goal?(Enablers)
Possible barriers and how they could be overcome.
Who is responsible for this step?
Date this step will be achieved by.
Email Mr Rogers to leave school grounds to do this.
Arrange the things we need
If everyone in our team pitches in.
Money
Try the next place if one says no if we are not allowed to leave school then we will ask to do it in chalk on a school wall.
Us ourselves are responsible
We will be trying to do this
The time it is finished

To talk to the students where is a good spot to do this in school grounds incase we are not allowed to leave school.
We will need permission
And chalk to do this.
If we had no chalk at the time we can wait till the next day.or if we can make up our minds we let everyone else choose.
Our group
When it's finished

We need a good spot that everyone can see.
People to Participate in the wall.
A plan that will show us information on the question we should do.
People say no and participation, the principle says no.
The group is.
When it is finished.

To set up the area that we are doing it in.
And put our plans in place by doing it.
Being organised for the  project in hand.
No One wants to put their goals and others.
The group
When it's finished.

All possible barriers will be fixed when we get to it. now it's time to spread our love and happiness.

Persuasive Essay

Minecraft should be a subject in schools

I believe that Minecraft should be a subject in all schools. Because it not only helps with math but also with architecture, it can even boost creativity in children, and the great community that this game has for the user will make this game fun for students to learn in a way never thought possible.

This game is so educational it can teach students about area and perimeter in a whole new way. For example, when building you need to know what and how to build it you will need to know the area and perimeter so you will have enough space for the basics when building. Since all the building materials are cubes it's easy to do this because everything will be like making a grid in a maths book. This is really helpful with maths and skill sets to become a builder.

It not only helps with math but also with architecture. By using real-life materials such as stone, emeralds, lapis lazuli, and diamonds, This game is based on some physics and all the materials are real but it depends on the way you look at it. It also shows levels of the earth when mining. These help with future architects in the long run because of the game is based on an earth but where you can do whatever you want.

This is also a game of imagination where you can be wild and free. Minecraft can boost creativity in students by giving them the power to build whatever they want. You can build multiple things like cars, houses, planes and landscape your own world. This game has many choices you can even switch between creative and survival. Creative is a world where you have all the materials. Survival where you have to gather your own resources.  This game is good if you want to boost creativity in your mind.

But there's one problem this game was not made for education but for a fun waste of time. This game's purpose was made to be fun by making a world where you can get lost and build whatever you want. The Minecraft creator made this game in six days. To be a game that is meant to be a game, not an educational tool. This is the reasons why this game just started making its way into schools.

That is why I think this game should be a subject in schools. Because of its creativity boost in children, and how it helps with maths and architect but it was not made for education.

Random Writings

Drugs should be allowed in sports because it will make sports more entertaining to watch. If they were on crack they would sprint from one side of the field to the other like it was nothing. But they can also grow an addiction to it and it can affect the user's ability but it can also increase your own ability to play. I'm not saying all drugs should be allowed only some that won't kill the willing
User.
Fishermen should pay for every fish they catch? Because since the decrease in fish production from over catching I think that fishermen should actually pay for their fish that they may catch. Cause two thirds of the fish stock has disappeared jew to over catching.

From doing so I think the people should respect the fish and give them time to repopulate before it’s too late. Because our major food source will have to come from the ocean someday. It probably is now that is why I think people should pay for fish.

Take The Stage

Image result for child on stage Have you ever done or felt like you couldn't move with the thought that you’re gonna choke? I have it was when I first got up on stage it was a challenge but I was doing a number for the students of my school. There was a hall full of student's since we were a big school there were over 900 people in here trapped with me. They were forced to listen like that of a prison.

But there was one problem I was scared as hell. It felt like I was going to be sick. Yes, there was only one thought going through my head. are they gonna like my music? Since I was new and a lot of students have done this I was still scared I thought I was going to faint or freeze but I didn't.

I had so much self-doubt in me. Cause if I get something wrong I thought I would certainly die of shock. My palms were sweaty, my throat was dry, I thought nobody would like it.

Then I heard my name being called out to go on stage. then all I heard was silence. Not a peep out of anyone I had butterflies running through my stomach. And when I opened my mouth to ask the technician to turn the beat on they all clapped and I didn't even start yet. but they still clapped and then all the teachers told them to shhh…
Then I started everyone was stunned because they've never heard anyone destroy racism of any type.

when I was finished and left the stage they were still screaming out my name to do more. Obviously, I felt like I was a special little boy. But when the whole thing was over and I went to class for second place equal they clapped and cheered for me. With their motion of their hands and the noise, They were making me feel dizzy. The one thing going through my head now was that everyone knew my name.

From this experience, I knew that I could be better on if I tried doing things I dreamed of doing. So I'd followed my dreams.

Essay Patrice

SEXXXY 1
In the film THE POWER OF ONE high and low angles was used effectively throughout the film.
For example when
geel piet was thrown to the grown by sgt boorman  you could see that sgt was standing over top of geel piet.
This shows that sgt boorman is stronger than geel piet and that geel piet is afraid of what he may do this made me feel that sgt boorman had power of him.
The director did this to show the power struggle between white and black people. The purpose of this technique is to show who has  the table of power. This was done by throwing geel piet to the ground.
Considering with this technique working well with lighting to make the scene even more awesome!!!.
This technique can be juxtaposed with p.k and bortha fighting it out at the end of the film.
The Power of One: Film Study
The First 10-15 Minutes
A typical film question will focus on those crucial first 10-15 minutes! Why? Because the director must catch and hold your attention in fifteen minutes or you won't watch the film.
Film Question: Explain how the filmmaker uses a range of film techniques to introduce such things as background, setting, character and themes in the first 10-15 minutes of a film you have studied. (NB. Film techniques include type of shots used, soundtrack, editing, etc.)
So how did Avildsen (the director of The Power of One)  manage to give you the background (especially historical background) plus introduce the setting plus introduce the characters plus the key ideas/themes?
To find out, you have to answer the questions below.
INSTRUCTIONS- PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
  • This activity will help you to practice your close viewing skills in identifying film techniques/aspects, and explaining the effect of these techniques/aspects for the viewer. This will be great practice for your film essay :)
