My Why

This wonderful piece of work is my WHY as in why do I do art why do I draw so nice why do I do the things i do so first i would have to brainstorm Ideas of why I do this Second chose the ones stand out most to me. I have chosen Culture and Religion because my maori side in the family I wish to learn more about, Religion the things I see as I believe and know that everyone has a path they would have to take. these are my why in art and life.

Jane Crisp
I have chosen my first artist as Jane Crisp as i seen a small sentence i have seen
""Beauty and realness of the natural world is what captivates me. I do not paint real scenes or situations as a photographic camera would capture, although I attempt to paint reality"
I have found this really inspiring not only of her work but as what she believes in this is a small piece of her collection I have seen online.

Tony Harrington
His work exposes issues of culture and identity as he embraces both Pakeha and Maori as one (Aotearoa and New Zealand) together his carvings inspired me in some of my drawings his symbolism in his work is insane and the work which he does he does out of CULTURE.

Leonardo da Vinci
I have chosen Leonardo da Vinci because of his realism when it comes to his surroundings in every work he has painted he was so many things that i would love to be as a artist

  1. I love the white line that Tony Harrington uses on his pieces. That could be a solid way forward for you with that lovely drawing of the Chief you are descended from. Also the layering that exists. As well as the circular format. These are all things you could think about with your work and it could be a lovely way forward. Your folio plan is great, but allow it to evolve as your work develops too.
